FHS-UV In-Line Filter Holder

 

The FHS-UV In-Line Filter Holder is a low-cost spectrophotometric accessory for fast, convenient absorbance/transmission measurements of optical and other filters. Ocean Optics' FHS-UV In-Line Filter Holder is optimized for UV-VIS-NIR (200 nm-2 µm) measurements.

The FHS-UV is $461.

The FHS-UV In-Line Filter Holder features a pair of 74-UV 5-mm diameter f/2 collimating lenses that maximize light throughput, as well as a manual light-block wheel for dark readings. The Filter Holder acts as a simple yet effective device for measuring filters. It also provides a convenient place to accommodate filters for optical setups.

The In-Line Filter Holder accepts 1" round or any size >1/2" square optical filters, up to ¼" (6 mm) in thickness. (For samples larger or thicker than our In-Line Filter Holder can easily accommodate, users may wish to consider the 74-ACH Adjustable Collimating Lens Holder.) Plastic supports hold SMA-terminated fibers steady.

When coupled to an Ocean Optics miniature fiber optic spectrometer, the In-Line Filter Holder becomes a handy spectrophotometric tool for measuring absorbance/transmission and other optical characteristics of filters. In fact, the filter holder is a convenient alternative to more expensive or awkward optical filter setups.

User's Tip

In an In-Line Filter Holder setup, the light that passes through the filter is collimated. This makes it possible to measure either glass or interference filters.
