FIA-Z-SMA PEEK-Lensed Flow Cell

The new FIA-Z-SMA-PEEK-LENSED is a 10 mm flow cell that includes two collimating lenses and special SMA adapters.

The addition of these special SMA adapters, plus the lenses, increase the UV and VIS throughput of the flow cell by up to 10X. This increased sensitivity enables these flow cells -- coupled to a Jaz multichannel modular sensing suite -- to be used as a low-cost chromatographic system.

The FIA-Z-SMA-PEEK Lensed Cell is a versatile Z-cell accessory that can be used for a variety of optical absorbance measurements. The cell can be configured as part of a system that uses any Ocean Optics spectrometer, but it's especially attractive as part of a multichannel Jaz system, configured for a chromatographic application:

Spectrometer: Two-channel Jaz (JAZ-COMBO-2)
Spectrometer configuration (each item is per spectrometer channel):
  • Grating #1 (200-850 nm)
  • DET2B-200-850 (detector with order-sorting filter and UV upgrade)
  • 25 µm entrance slit
  • SUV-UPG-1 enhanced-UV grating option
Light Source*: Jaz-UV-VIS deuterium-tungsten halogen light source
Ethernet module: Jaz-E for Ethernet connectivity and data storage via SD card
FIA-Z-SMA-PEEK Lensed Cell (per channel): (2) cells -- one for each spectrometer channel
Optical Fibers (2 per channel): (4) QP450-1-XSR 450 µm, 1-meter length optical fiber assemblies with extra solar-resistance optical properties

* You have two options with your light source. You can use a single source for both channels (switching to bifurcated fibers for your setup). Or, you can configure a separate light source for each channel. An Ocean Optics Applications Scientist can offer you assistance in selecting the optimum setup for your specific application.

Complete two-channel Jaz systems are available starting at less than $12,000.
