Gershun Tube Kit

The Gershun Tube Kit (GER-KIT) is used to control the field of view of either an Ocean Optics SMA 905-terminated fiber optic cable or a spectrometer.

Available for $524, the GER-KIT can be attached directly to the front of a spectrometer or coupled to an SMA 905-terminated optical fiber by using the included adapter barrel.

Each GER-KIT assembly contains a conical-shaped base, a middle barrel and an outer barrel that can be threaded together. User-interchangeable apertures of 1, 3, 8, 10 and 14 degrees are also included.  These apertures provide a 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, 10, 14, 16, 20 or 28 degree field of view depending on the configuration of the GER-KIT. Apertures are held in place by a threaded retaining ring and can be easily set into or removed from the middle or outer barrels by using the included tool.

The GER-KIT assembly is made entirely of a sturdy black anodized aluminum; the interior surfaces are bead-blasted to reduce off-axis reflections.

Configuration Notes

When using the GER-KIT with an Ocean Optics optical fiber, the field of view cannot exceed the optical fiber's 25 degree field of view.
