Ocean Optics - Inventor of the World's First Miniature Spectrometer
Ocean Optics offers a full range of integrating spheres that couple to our spectrometers and optical fibers for a variety of emission and reflectance measurements.

All of our spheres are compact and sturdy, available in various diameters and materials and cover ranges from 200-2500 nm.

Integrating Spheres for Emission

Integrating Spheres for Reflectance

  • ISP-REF Integrating Spheres measure specular or diffuse, with Spectralon sphere material
  • ISP-R Integrating Spheres offer multiple diameter options and version with gloss trap available
  • LAB-RT Integrating Spheres – Labsphere model spheres with large-diameter sample ports

What is Your Field of View?

Four of our deveices are used to control field of view (FOV) and aperture:

  1. Optical Fiber (25° FOV, aperture = fiber diameter)
  2. Collimating Lens (0° - 45° FOV, aperture = 3 mm)
  3. Cosine Corrector (180° FOV, apterture = 3.9mm)
  4. Integrating Sphere (360° FOV, apterture = 25mm)

Technical Tip
The divergence (α) of a beam focused using a single lens is: tan(α) = d/f where f is the focal length of the lens and d is the aperture of the spectrometer.
