Cosine-corrected Irradiance ProbesOcean Optics cosine-corrected fiber optic irradiance probes -- also referred to as "cosine correctors" -- are sampling optics designed to collect radiation (light) at ~180°, eliminating optical interface problems associated with the light collection sampling geometry inherent to other sampling devices. The CC-3 Cosine Corrector features opaline glass diffusing material and is optimized for applications from 350-1000 nm. The CC-3 is available for only $115. The CC-3-UV-T Cosine Corrector has PFTE diffusing material and the CC-3-UV-S has Spectralon diffusing material. Both are optimized for applications from 200-1100 nm and are available for only $150. The Cosine Correctors screw on to the end of any SMA-terminated optical fiber. When coupled to an Ocean Optics miniature fiber optic spectrometer, these cosine correctors can be used to measure UV-A and UV-B solar radiation, environmental light fields, lamps and other emission sources. The CC-3-DA is a direct-attach option that screws directly on to the SMA connector of an Ocean Optics spectrometer, eliminating the need for an optical fiber. The CC-3-DA is available for $346. Each CC-3 Cosine Corrector has a 0.25" O.D. barrel with a smooth yet rugged black oxide finish. The diffusing material is a thin disk that sits at the end of the barrel (the diffusing material is 0.30" thick). All cosine correctors have SMA 905 connectors for convenient coupling to optical fibers. CC-3, CC-3-UV-T and CC-3-UV-S Cosine Correctors Specifications
