Optics introduces the ACH-CUV-VAR
Adjustable Collimating Lens and Cuvette Holder, a multipurpose
sample-handling platform that can be used to easily position samples in
cuvettes that range from 10 mm to 150 mm wide. The adjustable ACH-CUV-VAR
eases sample-handling for laboratory chemists who conduct cuvette-based
absorbance experiments involving variable pathlength analyses. Available for $1,054, the ACH-CUV-VAR is two products in one: a variable-width cuvette and thick-sample holder for absorbance/transmission measurements and an adjustable-height holder for collimating lenses (two Ocean Optics 74-series UV collimating lenses are included). As a sample holder, the ACH-CUV-VAR is especially useful for transmission measurements of large or thick samples not easily accommodated by other sampling fixtures. As a cuvette holder, the ACH-CUV-VAR can be used to position samples in cuvettes. The cuvette holder component fits securely between the two mount bars and can accept cuvettes up to 150-mm wide. The mounting bars, which can be moved with 0.5-cm pathlength measurement gradations over a total length of 10 cm, uses M6 setscrews. As a lens holder, the ACH-CUV-VAR has an anodized aluminum base and adjustable mount bars. Each bar has several 3/8-24 threaded holes for positioning collimating lenses. Two Ocean Optics 74-series UV collimating lenses, optimized for applications from 200 nm-2 microns, are included. The mount bars can be adjusted to accept especially large samples, up to approximately 150-mm thick. The base is marked in 1-mm intervals as a pathlength guide. The ACH-CUV-VAR is one of nearly 100 Mikropack-brand spectroscopy accessories that Ocean Optics has added to its product line.
