Discontinued SoftwareSpectraSuite Replaces All!It’s long been a goal of ours to create one hardware device driver program that would control all of our hardware as well as other manufacturers’ devices, from any type of computer operating system environment and from which all software applications would run. The answer was to use Java as the programming language to create SpectraSuite and OmniDriver. Java was designed to be platform-neutral, making it the perfect programming language for our customers around the globe. Discontinued Software FAQs
OOIBase32 Spectrometer Operating SoftwareOOIBase32 Spectrometer Operating Software was first introduced in 1999 and was the Ocean Optics Spectrometer Operating Software for over 6 years. In 2005, Ocean Optics introduced its new Java-based SpectraSuite Spectroscopy Platform Software to work with all future Ocean Optics spectrometers and devices. OOIBase32 served us all well but now it's time to say goodbye. OOIBase32 can still be downloaded for free and used with Ocean Optics spectrometers produced before 2005. It will continue to be updated with fixes if bugs are found. However, OOBase32 will not work with Ocean Optics products developed and introduced after August 2005. OOISPM Spectral Processing ModuleThe OOISPM Spectral Processing Module provided the ability to harness the power of Ocean Optics' spectral processing commands for use in your own software. OOISPM offered the power of Ocean Optics' existing spectral processing knowledge in an easy-to-use package that allowed you to develop your software for specific applications. OOISPM worked with OOIBase32. OOISPM was replaced with SPAM. OOIHIP Handheld Interface PackageOOIHIP Handheld Interface Package allowed you to write custom software for Windows CE computers, for interfacing to our spectrometers. The package included libraries and source code for serial communication, data acquisition from out spectrometers, high-performance spectral plotting, and linear and polynomial regressions. Several utility functions that are not part of Windows CE were also included. OOIHSD High-speed Driver LibraryOcean Optics' High-speed Driver Library (OOIHSD) was a software driver package for Windows 95/98/Me/XP and Windows NT/2000 that allowed users to rapidly collect a series of spectral data and store the results into computer memory. It was designed for applications where spectral data must be collected as quickly as possible. The OOIHSD allowed users to easily collect time-series data from any Ocean Optics line of miniature fiber optic spectrometers. OOIWinIP Windows Interface PackageOOIWinIP Windows Interface Package was a software device driver package for all 32-bit Windows operating systems. It allowed you to write your own real-time data acquisition and processing programs for our line of spectrometers, in any language that can directly call dynamic link libraries (DLLs). OOIWinIP included a handful of sample programs -- written in Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, Visual C++ and Delphi -- to demonstrate how you can write your own software. These sample programs provided a primer on using OOIWinIP to call the driver within each particular language. OOILVD LabVIEW DriversOOILVD LabVIEW Software Device Driver Package allowed you to configure Ocean Optics spectrometers as real-time virtual instruments in National Instruments' LabVIEW graphical programming environment. These device drivers come in the form of 32-bit virtual instruments, or VIs -- functional blocks that you plug into diagrams, or code. These VIs control all aspects of data acquisition and processing from our spectrometers. The package also included sample applications.
