FIA-SIA-LOV Sequential Injection Analysis System

The world's smallest (12.7 cm x 15.3 cm x 15.3 cm) SIA system. The FIA-SIA-LOV can be used for a wide range of chemical analyses including immunoassays, water quality analysis, dilution monitoring and chemical/biological monitoring.

Complete with a six-valve manifold, a syringe pump and a valve and computer control, the FIA-SIA-LOV can fully automate wet lab procedures with precise control of assay parameters including sample dilution, reagent/sample ratio and flow rate.

Features

  • Fully automates wet lab procedures

  • Precise control of assay parameters

  • Computer control of six-valve manifold and pump

FIA-SIA-LOV systems are $20124; additional components are priced separately.

Modular Turnkey Chemical Analysis System

The FIA-SIA-LOV can be configured with Ocean Optics spectrometers, light sources and optical fibers, and FIA Flow Injection Cells, for optical absorbance and fluorescence measurements of fluids. Additionally, nearly any standard colorimetric flow injection analysis method can be adapted to SIA, and performed on the FIA-SIA-LOV, with few or no modifications to the manifold.

Each FIA-SIA-LOV unit contains a 5 VDC relay for powering LED lamps, as well as a 24 VDC relay for powering a heater or small auxiliary pump or solenoid valve. Operating software is also included.

Lab-On-Valve Technology

The FIA-SIA-LOV features the Lab-On-Valve System -- a fully integrated, six-position selector valve that enables flow injection, sequential injection and bead-trapping within a single component. The Lab-On-Valve System permits high-reproducibility of physical processes including injection, mixing and optical monitoring. All of the chemistry takes place within the valve manifold -- eliminating the need for additional tubing and connectors.

Each of the Lab-On-Valve's ports is assigned a specific function such as flow through, reagent aspiration, composite sample handling or waste elimination. The ports are interconnected by microchannels and a built-in multipurpose flow cell that is interfaced by optical fiber probes for spectral analysis.

Single- or Multi-channel, Multi-assay Flexibility

Up to 12 FIA-SIA-LOV systems can be interconnected to configure a multi-channel, multi-assay system. A multi-channel system can be controlled by a single computer and can run in multi-channel format, or if needed, the components can be separated and run individually -- an advantage over many commercially available multi-channel FIA systems.

Small-footprint System

Measuring only 12.7 cm x 15.3 cm x 15.3 cm, the FIA-SIA-LOV is highly portable and can easily be positioned near ETAAS and MS systems so that micro-volumes of processed samples need not be transported through long conduits, which can result in sample degradation. Additionally, the entire FIA-SIA-LOV system can fit into a small incubator where temperature and humidity can be maintained for assays, reagents and samples.
