Component Modularity and Flexibility
Ocean Optics offers important
value-added features such as a low-cost modular design, miniaturized
components and superior spectrometer performance characteristics such as
strong resolution and high sensitivity.
We took a familiar optical design --
the crossed Czerny-Turner -- and reconfigured it for an optical bench that's
small
enough to fit in the palm of your hand. The result is a more flexible,
lower-cost UV-VIS-Shortwave NIR spectrometer with no moving parts and a
compact design that's easy to integrate as an OEM component. Our
OEM board can be conveniently packaged into your assembly, eliminating the
need for additional bench or rack mount space.
Virtually any spectrometer configuration
may be selected using the OEM board or one of three standard interface platforms
(desktop, PC plug-in and portable), plus a choice from among 14 gratings. This
flexibility allows users to optimize resolution, wavelength range and
sensitivity within the desired spectral range. Users can also create a
virtually endless variety of optical systems using some combination of
Ocean Optics spectrometers, light sources and photonics accessories. Operating software and add-on software products are
also available.
OEMs are not required to purchase all
spectrometer system components or primary assemblies. Most OEMs take advantage of Ocean Optics sub-assembly items, particularly the OEM
board (optical bench and electronics). To provide optimal flexibility, we
also offer customized spectroscopic components.
Fast-Track Order Delivery
Time to market is critical in today’s business environment. Ocean Optics
can fast-track your spectrometer outsourcing, providing the required
configuration in minimal time with guaranteed volume deliveries according
to your order needs. Our hands-on approach ensures that customization lead
times are kept to a minimum. What's more, all OEM partnerships are held
as proprietary agreements, with assured confidentiality.
Full OEM Service
and Support
Ocean Optics staff researchers, applications scientists and
software engineers are available to assist with your development
challenges. We have amassed a vast library of applications know-how as a
result of selling more than 100,000 custom-system spectrometers since 1992. We challenge you to find any spectrometer manufacturer with as much
practical, hands-on spectroscopy application experience as Ocean Optics.
Our spectrometers have been used almost everywhere: in jungles and on
treetops, on oil rigs at sea and rocket ships in space, and even inside
the human body.
Targeted Marketing for All Applications
People often ask about the markets
we serve. In brief, we serve any market involving applications that
require the measurement of light or its interaction with an analyte media.
Ocean Optics' mission is to be an OEM provider to companies
incorporating our spectrometers into systems designed to sell into their
respective markets. We develop partnerships with OEMs interested
in creating unique application-specific hardware and software systems for
direct sale into markets such as process control, medical diagnostics,
pharmaceutical testing and environmental monitoring. Our modular
components support applications as diverse as color and appearance
measurement, chemical composition analysis, blood oximetry and cancer
detection, laser and LED measurement, and plasma monitoring and
thin-film measurements.
